Who we are

Hydrately is made by Maximized Studio, based in the Netherlands. For anything about this policy, email apps@maximized.studio.

What the app stores, and where

Hydrately stores the drinks you log (type, amount, time), your favorites, custom drink categories and sizes, your daily goal and the settings that shape it, your display preferences, and your streak.

On iPhone, this data is kept in a local database on your device. When iCloud is enabled, the app syncs it through CloudKit into the private database of your own iCloud account so it follows you to a new phone. That database belongs to you and is protected by your Apple ID. Maximized Studio has no server, no access to your iCloud data and no copy of it.

On Android, this data is kept in a local database on your phone. The app has no network access and does not sync on its own. If you have Google backup turned on, Android includes your drink log and settings in your device backup, stored in your own Google account, and in the phone-to-phone transfer when you set up a new device. That backup belongs to you and is managed in Android’s backup settings. Maximized Studio has no access to it and no copy of it.

Apple Health and Health Connect

On iPhone, Hydrately can, with your permission, write the water you log to Apple Health and read your weight and workouts to personalize your daily goal. You choose exactly which types to allow in the Health permission prompt and can change your mind at any time in the Health app under Sharing.

On Android, Hydrately can, with your permission, write the water you log to Health Connect and read your weight and exercise sessions to personalize your daily goal. You choose each data type in the Health Connect permission prompt and can change your mind at any time in Health Connect, under Settings › Security & privacy › Health Connect. Hydrately’s use of information received from Health Connect follows the Health Connect Permissions policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Health data is used only inside the app, on your device, for the features described above. We do not use health data for advertising, marketing or any data-mining purpose, we never sell it, and we never share it with third parties. Health data is not synced through our CloudKit records and is kept out of the Android backup; Apple Health and Health Connect handle their own storage and sync.

Notifications

Reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device from your own logging rhythm. No push server is involved, and no data is sent anywhere to schedule them, also not when the Android app reschedules them after a restart. Turn them off in the app, or in iOS or Android settings.

What we do not collect

• The app does not collect your name, email address or phone number, and requires no account.
• No analytics, usage tracking or advertising identifiers.
• No third-party SDKs that phone home.
• No precise location.

If you have opted in to sharing analytics and crash data with app developers in iOS Settings, Apple may send us anonymized crash logs and aggregate statistics through App Store Connect. You control this under Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements. On Android, Google may likewise send us anonymized crash reports and aggregate statistics through Google Play if you have turned on usage and diagnostics, under Settings › Google › Usage & diagnostics. None of these contain hydration or health data.

Deleting your data

Delete individual entries in the app at any time. Deleting the app removes the local database from your device. On iPhone, to remove the synced copy from iCloud, open Settings › your name › iCloud › Manage Account Storage and delete Hydrately’s data, or turn off iCloud for Hydrately before deleting the app. On Android, Hydrately’s data in your Google backup is part of your device’s backup, which you manage or delete under Settings › Google › Backup. Water written to Apple Health can be deleted in the Health app, and water written to Health Connect in Health Connect.

This website

This site is static and sets no cookies. To see how many people visit and which pages they read, it uses Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without a persistent identifier. It records the page, the referring site, country, device type, browser and operating system, and cannot follow you across days or other sites. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and requested page) for a short time to keep the service running securely. Links to maximized.studio lead to a separate site with its own privacy policy.

Feedback and support

The feedback form prepares an email in your own email app. Its contents are not submitted to or stored by this website. When you send the email, we receive your email address and any details you include so we can respond to your feedback or support request.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have rights to access, correct, delete and port your personal data, and to object to or restrict its processing. Because Hydrately keeps your data on your own devices and in your own iCloud account or Google backup, you exercise these rights directly in the app, in iOS or Android, and in iCloud or your Google account as described above. If you have a question or a complaint, email apps@maximized.studio. You may also lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

Children

Hydrately is not directed at children under 13, and we knowingly collect no personal data through the app.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version is published here with an updated effective date. Material changes that affect how the app handles your data will also be noted in the app’s release notes.
