Who we are

Hydrately is made by Maximized Studio, based in the Netherlands. For anything about this policy, email hello@maximized.studio.

What the app stores, and where

Hydrately stores the drinks you log (type, amount, time), your favorites, your daily goal and the settings that shape it, and your progress in the game loop (streaks, quests, XP, badges and unlocked themes). Nothing else.

This data is kept in a local database on your iPhone. When iCloud is enabled on your device, the app syncs it through CloudKit into the private database of your own iCloud account so it follows you to a new phone. That database belongs to you and is protected by your Apple ID. Maximized Studio has no server, no access to your iCloud data and no copy of it.

Your Apple Watch keeps a small local mirror of today’s totals and your favorites so it can show and log drinks. It talks only to your paired iPhone.

Apple Health

Hydrately can, with your permission, write the water you log to Apple Health and read your weight and workouts to personalize your daily goal. You choose exactly which types to allow in the Health permission prompt and can change your mind at any time in the Health app under Sharing.

Health data is used only inside the app, on your device, for the features described above. We do not use Health data for advertising, marketing or any data-mining purpose, we never sell it, and we never share it with third parties. Health data is not synced through our CloudKit records; Apple Health handles its own sync.

Notifications

Reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device from your own logging rhythm. No push server is involved, and no data is sent anywhere to schedule them. Turn them off in the app or in iOS Settings.

What we do not collect

• No name, email address, phone number or account of any kind.
• No analytics, usage tracking or advertising identifiers.
• No third-party SDKs that phone home.
• No precise location.

If you have opted in to sharing analytics and crash data with app developers in iOS Settings, Apple may send us anonymized crash logs and aggregate statistics through App Store Connect. These contain no hydration or Health data. You control this under Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.

Deleting your data

Delete individual entries in the app at any time. Deleting the app removes the local database from your device. To remove the synced copy from iCloud, open Settings › your name › iCloud › Manage Account Storage and delete Hydrately’s data, or turn off iCloud for Hydrately before deleting the app. Water written to Apple Health can be deleted in the Health app.

This website

This site is static. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and requested page) for a short time to keep the service running securely. Links to maximized.studio lead to a separate site with its own privacy policy.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have rights to access, correct, delete and port your personal data, and to object to or restrict its processing. Because Hydrately keeps your data on your own devices and in your own iCloud account, you exercise these rights directly in the app, in iOS and in iCloud as described above. If you have a question or a complaint, email hello@maximized.studio. You may also lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

Children

Hydrately is not directed at children under 13, and we knowingly collect no personal data from anyone, children included.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version is published here with an updated effective date. Material changes that affect how the app handles your data will also be noted in the app’s release notes.
